Sunny days are already here and gentlemen must step up their fashion game. There are so many runway trends to keep up with, but that is not all. Besides knowing what kind of clothes you will wear, it is important to figure out how to find inspiration for an entire outfit. Sounds complicated right? Well, actually it is not. Summer trends have brought to you some modern shapes, traditional colors and various unexpected accessories, but once you pick up the pattern, you will know where to go from there. We will try to help you with these few tips about the season’s hottest trends and how to wear them.

Fifties Shirt + Wayfarers

True gentlemen are glad that this trend is back with a bang, because who would not like to look like Don Draper on a pool party in L.A.? Textured fifties shirts as seen on Ralf Simons, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Umit Benan and Canali shows combine perfectly with a pair of tailored pants. The key of pulling off this look is in cleaver color combining – make the contrast conspicuous and wear powder hues and darker tones. Finish the look with dark wayfarers to get a genuine blast from the fifties vibe. To get the ultimate Mad Men hair, define and mould it with a Shiny Pomade hair wax.

Army Green + Leather

Military clothes have always been a popular inspiration for menswear, so it is no different now. All shades of army green, from olive to light khaki, are optional, but the color spectrum was even broader, as we had the chance to see at Brioni (jade) and Burberry (bottle-like green). Rock this trend by wearing head-to-toe green. Try to clearly clash different shades to achieve the perfect harmony (e.g. dark olive + jade). For the extra military vibe, wear aviator sunglasses. Make the combo even a greater success by adding handmade leather goods (belts, backpacks, bracelets…) to the mixture.

Safari + Fedora

Safari is another trend that never gets old. This year designers looked back to early 20th century, the safari craze and the beginning of aviation. Remember Ralph Fiennes from the English Patient? Well, you should aim for the count Laszlo look (before the accident). So, everything from multi-pocketed gilets to field jackets and tanksuits is allowed. The easiest ways to wear this style are bush shirts, chinos and khaki field jackets. There is something missing though. You cannot go to your urban expedition without a fedora hat, right? Perhaps another character is crossing your mind now – yes, you can look like Indiana Jones.

White Trousers + White Chinos

This is the ultimate summer look for 2016. It will make you feel like you are a regular guest in some country club, where you go to play golf with your equally rich friends. At the same time, the style is equally relaxed and casual. Combine your white custom tailored suits and give it a pop of color with dusty brown belt. Other pieces to wear with your white trousers are patterned sweaters, chambray button down shirts, polo shirts, etc.

Overalls + Attitude

The overalls style is sweeping the runways and for a good reason. It is accentuating masculinity, showcasing the image of a strong and sexy handyman. In fact, these clothing pieces look so incredibly cool that you do not need accessories to style it, just a spunky attitude to go with it. The best is to keep everything low key by wearing all dark clothes or a simple white tee under classic blue denim overall. Other inconspicuous items you can include are a plaid shirt, black cardigan and dark color scarf.

In the end, this last accessory is the most important of them all for every trend. If you wear every one of them with sufficient does of attitude, no one will notice whether you are wearing a fedora or a sports cap.
